U-17 Boys- Las Vegas 7's Recap
For the first time in Toronto Rugby History, a representative junior boys 7's side travelled to the world famous Las Vegas 7's International Tournament featuring teams from across the world. The U-17 Boys team competed in the High School Elite Division and faced some stiff competition.
The first match up was vs the All Americans All Stars who were the defending champions. While the result was a blow out the boys took this as a learning experience and they improved each and every game.
The team was lead by strong performances by Austin Insley (Aurora) with 4 tries and 4 converts, John Bowley (Nomads) with 2 tries and Erich Milne (Oshawa) with 2 tries.
Coach Bryan Armstrong had this to say about the experience. "This was a great experience for us, these boys are usually on the other end of these scores and for the first time they weren't. We will take this as motivation and begin to prepare for the Ontario Summer Games."
